This year’s featured musical act is Frankie Vázquez, “El Sonero del Barrio.” Vázquez, one of the most famous salsa singers in New York, will perform with the Tino Serrano Orquesta Salsa Dura at this year’s Feria del Barrio.
Throughout more than thirty-five years of artistic life, “El Sonero del Barrio” has had the fortune and pleasure to accompany and be part of renowned salsa groups such as Taiborí Sound, New Swing Sextet, Conjunto Libre, Jimmy Bosch, Sonora Matancera, Hermanos Lebrón, Grupo Caribe and Sonora by Javier Vázquez. During the last ten years, Frankie has recorded with other orchestras, including Gerardo Rosales, Ricky Gonzalez, Lebrón Brothers, Johnny Cruz, “Eight and More,” Pablo “Chino” Nunez, Orquesta La Verdad, Descarga Boricua and The Latin Giants Of Jazz.
Since 1979, the Feria del Barrio has celebrated Latino culture and the economic and educational aspirations of our community. Taller collaborates with Congreso de Latinos Unidos, GALAEI, HACE, and Raíces Cultural Latinoamericanas, all organizations dedicated to the promotion of arts, culture, education, health and community economic development.
See them perform on September 17, at this year’s Feria del Barrio!
