Jaime feels lucky to be able to work in an area surrounded by some great sports teams, not only professional but amateur as well. He loves seeing the passion that fans in the Greater Philadelphia area show for their teams, day in and day out, regardless of their record. Jaime appreciates every opportunity to travel with professional teams, and be able to report what is happening in both victories and losses. “I have many great memories, traveling with professional teams and coming back home with a victory makes you feel great,” said Jaime. “I have reported on many great matches and have been there for memorable moments where the winner shares their tears or laughs inches from the mic I am holding.” Before getting his start as a reporter, Jaime’s first career was in aviation as a pilot. His family is the engine that motivates him. When Jaime is not reporting, he enjoys adrenaline causing activities such as riding motorcycles, and extreme water sports. You can watch Iris’ live newscasts at 5, 5:30, 6 and 11pm every weekday. She is devoted to delivering the news in a way that is relevant to viewers, explaining the impact that current events can have in their daily lives. Iris loves visiting the different neighborhoods in Philadelphia and surrounding area, where she can connect with residents to better understand the issues that affect them. “I love running into children playing outside and answering their millions of questions about my career as a journalist,” said Iris. “I always remind them that anything they want to do in life is possible through hard work and determination, regardless of what their current circumstances may be. Starting out as a field reporter has helped me understand who makes up our community which results in greater sensitivity when anchoring the news.” One of the most memorable moments Iris has while reporting was when she was covering a story for two days about a sinkhole on Ella Street in Philadelphia. The sinkhole, which was in the middle of the street, was impeding children from playing and prevented vehicles from parking for months. Iris was dedicated to helping the neighborhood find a solution. Ultimately, city officials addressed the problem and everyone gained back their road. One woman was so grateful for her work that she brought out a homemade ‘café con leche’ for Iris. Seeing the people’s gratitude that day was unforgettable for her. Iris graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication-News and a minor in Latin American Studies. In 2018, she won multiple Emmy® Awards: Best Anchor in the Mid- Atlantic Region, Best Newscast and Best Magazine Show. In 2013, she also won an Emmy for her exclusive interview with the sole survivor of a massacre inside an Orlando, Fl. beauty salon. An active member of the community, Iris is passionate about children and youth. She advocates for greater access to quality education, influential mentoring, anti-bullying and women empowerment. The wife of an Army Combat Veteran, identifies with military families and wounded warriors. When Iris is not reporting the news, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, skiing, playing volleyball, and being by the ocean. You can watch his live reports weekdays at 5 PM, 5:30 PM, 6 PM and 11 PM. Brian joined Telmundo62 in May 2017. He is most passionate about being able to connect and give back to the community, especially through storytelling. “Delivering quality stories is my passion,” said Brian. “Meeting people and being able to interpret their stories in a way where viewers can also learn from their experiences is very rewarding as a journalist.” One of the most memorable stories that Brian has covered during his time as a journalist was the immigration crisis in McAllen, Texas at the Mexican border during 2014. The vulnerability and raw emotions of families, especially children, had a huge impact on him. Born in Naranjal, Ecuador, Brian’s immigrated to the United States with his family when was eight years old. Prior to joining Telemundo62, he worked as a multi-media journalist and fill-in anchor at Spanish-language station WUNI in Boston. Prior to this, Brian worked as an anchor and producer at Telemundo affiliate station in Abilene, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Houston. Brian is most excited about the rich history that is embedded in the Greater Philadelphia area and getting to know the people in the community.
